A SUCCESSFUL EVENT BROUGHT TOGETHER MORE THAN 200 CUSTOMERS IN VILLA CRISCIONE, ITALY.

On 18 May, the Italian Vegetable Seeds team, led by colleagues based in Sicily, held an outstanding event to present the latest developments by Semillas Fitó in this region. Under the title "Migliorare l’alimentazione è nei nostri geni: le ultime novità in casa Fitò" (Improving food is in our genes: the latest developments from Fitó), more than 200 farmers, customers, colleagues and friends gathered at the elegant Villa Criscione, located on the island of Sicily.

This mass event was the perfect setting to share the company’s major new developments through a series of presentations led by Raúl Martínez, Head of Sales for WEST EMEA and Giovanni Fallico, Area Manager in Sicily.

During the event, Filippo Aranzulla, a sales technician in Sicily and a specialist in tomato growing, presented Cadice, a new variety of Cherry tomato that provides intermediate resistance to ToBRFV and that promises to stand out in a segment of great importance for the area. This presentation generated great interest among the attendees, who were able to appreciate the potential of this variety.

Another fundamental aspect of the event focused on the presentation of the complete range of rootstocks for tomato and aubergine. It was led by Gianluca Guardiano and Laura Mateo, specialist in cultivation and rootstock breeder respectively. This presentation featured the presence of a special guest Andrea Minuto, scientific manager of CeRSAA Albenga, who shared his knowledge on nematodes and phytoparasites in horticultural crops.

The day ended with a presentation by  Luigi di Benedetto,  chain specialist for the Italian market, who gave attendees a detailed talk on how our Foodture division works and the importance that our brands play in the sector.

The event that the Italian team organized was a complete success, so we hope that it will be just the beginning of many more opportunities to show the potential of Semillas Fitó in Italy, allowing us to move forward together with our valued customers on the exciting path ahead of us.
